Lolldaiga Dawn
The Lolldaiga Hills blush gold as the sun climbs above the horizon, the distinctive silhouettes of Whistling Thorn trees etched against the warming sky. James Warwick finds extraordinary beauty in this most iconic of Kenyan landscapes — a scene that has played out across Laikipia County for millennia, captured here with rare sensitivity and skill.

James Warwick is a wildlife photographer based in the south of England. In his own words: “I try to capture 'decisive moments' in nature and show wildlife contextually in its environment. I enjoy the process of trying to create memorable and beautiful pictures and I hope that they will inspire people in some way to care about and conserve the natural world. Photography is a unique 'independent art' and like most wildlife and nature photographers, I do not digitally manipulate my pictures as I feel that it is inappropriate to my style of work which concentrates on documenting and interpreting natural history events as I see them in wild and free conditions.”
