#2 Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting | National Portrait Gallery WC2H 0HE

Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting is the UK’s largest museum exhibition dedicated to a leading contemporary painter. Rising to fame in the 1990s after her Glasgow School of Art degree show, Saville has revitalised figurative painting with visceral portraits crafted from thick paint layers. This chronological display features charcoal drawings, monumental nudes from 1992, and new works, challenging historical notions of female beauty. Showcasing 45 works from global collections, the exhibition traces Saville’s career, highlights key pieces, and explores her art historical connections, created in close collaboration with the artist.

#3 Theatre Picasso | Tate Modern SE1 9TG

Pablo Picasso, inspired by performers like dancers and bullfighters, crafted his public persona as Picasso, the Artist. Marking the centenary of The Three Dancers, this exhibition, curated by Wu Tsang and Enrique Fuenteblanca, transforms the space into a theatre, showcasing over 45 works from Tate’s collection and European loans, including paintings, sculptures, and textiles, some new to the UK. Picasso’s performative persona, blending popular culture and avant-garde, shaped his myth as an artist and outsider, influencing views of artists today. Theatre Picasso is presented in The George Economou Gallery, supported by White & Case, Huo Family Foundation, and Tate affiliates."

This exhibition, in partnership with Manolo Blahnik, explores the enduring influence of Marie Antoinette’s iconic style across 250 years of fashion, design, film, and art. Featuring over 350 objects, including precious jewels, historic gemstones, and contemporary interpretations, it traces how the French queen’s aesthetic shaped cultural expressions from 18th-century Versailles to modern runways. Expect a mix of historical artifacts, paintings, costumes, and multimedia installations that highlight her legacy in both classic and contemporary contexts.
